When was the end of production?

Well this forum was made to support the increasing GTA activity here on the site. Can any one tell me when was the last year of production for Giulia GTA, GTA 1300 JR, and GTAm?

Thanks

I believe the last GTA Jr. was made in 1975. Can confirm or provide the correct year?

Simon and Anthony,

This should help you for the GTA Jr. As you know to homologate the GTA Jr. for FIA Group 2
AR had to make 1000 examples per the qualifying rules of that time. AR records show that there were only 447 (documented at least) produced between, 1968-1972.
1968: 320
1969: 82
1970: 8
1971: 22
1972: 15

Anyone have any differen't info?

GTA Production

GTA 1600 Production #'s:

1965:
AR records only show 406 of the 1000 that were supposed to have been produced for homoglation sanctioning in 1965 were made. The homoglation approval was actully acheived before neccesary by AR so they had some time to build the other 594 cars.

1966: 21
1967: 61
1968: -
1969: 12

Total of 500 were actully built per AR records, of which 50 had right hand steering, were built in fiver years. No one really knows for sure if the others were built as AR has no records. Most likley they were not. If anyone has any documentation to the contrary it would be nice to see.

GTAm Production

40 Total documented sold from AR to Autodelta for factory race preperation. AD later sold some of the documented cars to preferential private race teams. They kept some cars for factory AR/AD manufactuer racing.

Official AR stats below.

1970: 1750 GTAm 220 HP @ 7,200 RPM's
1971: 2000 GTAm 240 HP @7,500 RPM's (Top Speed 149 mph/240 kph).
(Name changed for US marketing only).

*(Anyone could of bought a 1750 and have Autodelta bring the car up to GTAm spec, but this was not included in the official 40 umber above for factory representation. Parts could also have been bought out of the AR Perf catalouge of that era.)

Directly from the official AR Archive Storico site:
http://alfaromeo.com/cgi-bin/pbrand....3793857&page=4

YEAR OF PRODUCTION:
Giulia Sprint GTA: 1965-1969
GTA 1300 Junior: 1968 -1973
GT Am 1750-2000: 1970-1971, Am stands for America because it is derived from the USA injection version of the GT 1750

"A victory a day with the everyday car".
Created in 1965, a masterpiece by Bertone, in collaboration with Giugiaro. While it keeps the identical external form of the Giulia Sprint GT, the GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita) has a lighter body because of its riveted aluminum paneling and 1600 engine with a new twin-ignition cylinder head. It is particularly suited to sporting customers, given its sparkling performance. From this moment on, the Giulia Sprint GTA wins everything there is to win: Alfa Romeo wins the European Challenge in 1966, 1967 and 1968. Later an engine derived from the 1750 with capacity increased to 2000 is mounted on this model, with indirect injection and twin-ignition. The car is called the GT GTAm, and is capable of developing 220 horse-power and reaching a top speed of 240 Km/hr. Alfa's sporting range is further enhanced in 1969 with the addition of the Junior 1300 Zagato.

ENGINE:
Giulia Sprint GTA: 6 cylinders in line, single engine block
GTA 1300 Junior: 4 in line - double ignition
GTAm 1750-2000: 4 in line - double ignition

ENGINE CAPACITY:
Giulia Sprint GTA: 1570 cc
GTA 1300 Junior: 1290 cc
GTAm 1750-2000: 1985 cc
POWER OUTPUT:
Giulia Sprint GTA: 115 bhp at 6000 rpm.
GTA 1300 Junior: 96 bhp at 6000 rpm.
GTAm 1750-2000: 195-220 bhp SAE at 7200 rpm.(1970); 210-240 bhp SAE at 7500 rpm (1971)
TOP SPEED:
Giulia Sprint GTA: over 185 Km/hr
GTA 1300 Junior: 175-210 Km/hr
GTAm 1750-2000: 220-230 Km/hr
