GTA axles - 15 spline

I have a similar post in Parts for Sale.

I have finally found time to complete a dimensional drawing and send it to a Professional Axle Shop in the Los Angeles area. They have built new GTA 15-spline axles from 4340 steel in the past and are willing to do it again; as a one time set up during the slow winter months.

Price for one axle would be in the $300 dollar range.

If anyone is interested, please contact me via Private Message on Alfabb.

Please let me know as I intend to go forward with an order in the next few days.

Thanks

Very nice. Did you end up going with the guy that made them for us a few years ago?

Pictures posted above are of a stock 1600 axle with a 25 count spline and of a new GTA axle with a coarse 15 count spline. The new GTA axle has a black oxide finish.

If there is sufficient interest in these new GTA axles, we will commission a production run. The number of axles ordered will influence the final price.

Note that the new axle is threaded to accept the wheel bearing retaing nut, as found on 1600 axles. The axle shaft is tapered. Material is 4340.

Please contact me in the next few days if you are interested and serious about this purchase; in about 10 or 12 days I will follow up with a price quote.

Yes, except that the company was sold and the new operators did not have the required tooling to make these per this design. You are looking at the result of many design hours and ordering custom cutting tools.

Several months later, these are the very high quality results.

This Alfa stuff must be a labor of passion, otherwise we are just a bunch of nuts.........

You don't need them-

And besides, the carrier in the center needs to match the splines on the axle. Very few of these early diffs around- most of them reside in GTAs. Fred.
