Yes, I do. But the thing is that KL is so far. With two kids and 3 cars under restoration I think that I can't afford such race. Thank for invited me.

I will be in BKK in another week and might have some time to see the gentlemen who is doing the work on your GTAm conversion. I have emailed him for the address/phone. In the meantime, gowest, can you tell us what is this costing you? Many thanks.
My body shop estimate is somewhere between $2500 to $3000+ depend on how bad was the rust.

I wil look again in my Performace Options Catalouge, I have all years. What part number do you think the aluminum panlas were? I do beleive these were not for the GTAm, but will check again.

The entrance fee for the race is about RM300 (ie about US$70), u can bring the car through rail (I think), probably need permit etc.

Exchange rate RM1=US$4.2

Hotel in KL - RM200 to RM300 (5 star) a nite, sometimes cheaper. U probably be here about 5 days, 3 for the race, 2 for sight seeing
Not sure about the rail costs
Lorry cost, max RM300 to F1 track both ways.
U need a set of slicks and wets
Bring a friend, haha, to change the tyres
Alfa support team will be there (me, haha.) and also others, definitely.. incl mechanic
There are some race guidelines, eg brakes, seat belts, automatic engine off, etc, I can email it to u if u want
Will check on the permit costs

So, all in all, costs probably be about RM2,000.. (about US$500) isn't that fantastic!!. THe Japan GT is sometime June.. at least there'll be some people around to watch

And if there others interested, I can check on the logistics.. we have a good F1 support team here as well as the classic car support team.. It'll definitely feel like F1 coz there are people with yellow, green etc flags, computerised timekeeping with graphs and all, etc..

Wow! what a wild project!! Hey I see in the photo with the plastic over the motor that there are eyebolts and signal lights taped up on the front.

What are you using for signal lights?

I like the looks of GTVs without bumpers but have seen no slick signal light solutions. The GTAm had some kind of little round "pimple" lights didn't they? I put 101 spider signals on my last bumperless GTV and was just wondering if you'd figured out a better soulution. -Steve

Hi Steve, the signal light was infact the Austin Mini unit. Very similar in shape and easy to find.
Go.

Wow, that sound very convincing. When was the race begin?
I hope to finish this project by April.
If you have any picture of previous race please send them to me at contact@uskgmt.co.th. I wanna show it to my fellow Alfa friend in BKK.
Go.

Well, here are some photos. These are taken during a support race (was raining) for the superbikes.

As there is less (or no) following, the classic car race is usually a support race for the main event, hence the cheap entrance fee (nice..)

Normally, there will be about 20 to 40 cars from Malaysia and Singapore competing.. there are class 1, 2 and 3, I think, depending on the cc of the car..

Anyway, will email the rules and regs..

Yes, definitely..it's actually two pieces of glass with a plastic(?) laminated in between. Just wondering whether in BKK they can do rear windshield using perspecs coz it would be very light and awesome..

It would be scratchy after a day and cave in in an accident. Not awesome.
