Sure no probs.... we have done them all lockable so people don't have to make the tricky mods to the mechanism to get the passenger door to lock from the inside and make the handle stay forward. Just drop me an e-mail to secure a pair!

This is easy if you are looking for just the threaded hole part. Ferrari used these in different applications for years. I have made up a few for different size " push buttons" out of brass stock on my lathe. Any length + any thread and all I had to do was plate them. Easier than finding orig. Some were aluminum. Even easier! Find a man with old lathe and your set.

I am currently in the middle of a Ferrari project. Do you have a sample, or can you provide the "push button part" & / or some dimensions? Aluminum or brass? Will you plate if brass? I have an excellent machinist in mind. Are you in a BIG hurry?

I don't have any dimensions. Maybe Anthony (italiancarguy) can help. As for time, I can wait.

I hate to bring up the obvious, and or re-hashed ideas... But since this would be for a "Replica" not the real thing, could you not use/adapt a VW classic bug button lock? (I'm thinking about the button/mechanism part, not the finger grip casting)
Below is an image of the Bug engine lock...
Just a thought, Nick

I had thought of the VW thing before too. The glovebox buttons look pretty close, and go for about $12-15. If you had a machinist make up the above ring and chrome plate, you're in the whole set for about ~ $40-50. Which still leaves handles. and doesn't count for any and all time expended running back and forth to teh machinist, coming up with dimensions for him, dropping at chrome plating, time on the phone finding shops for all this.....
Maybe $400 for an accurate set from re-originals is'nt too bad?

I just tried to pot a quick reply but something went wrong. I'll try again. Why can't you get some that Anthony is currently making? Short of that, this device is very much like the 250 Ferrari GTO or Comp. SWB door handle. It is also used on the 275 GTB trunk lid. You might try Geoffery Ohland @ Partsource 207-236-9791. He deals in Ferrari parts, and may have a source if he does not have them himself. The Ferrari part fastens through the door skin, and pushes on a lever that releases the door latch. I have seen these available in the past, but not recently. Gordon Raymond

Max,
My drivers door button "disintegrated" when I went to take the car to the body shop. The spring and button were laying on the floor beside the driver's door. The pot metal part had broken at the tumbler section. Three years ago I bought reproductions from Wil at Automobilia.nl, but didn't test fit them to my doors until last week. The driver's door button is .070 in. too small in diameter and does not cover the locating slots in the door. It also does not have the 2 locating tabs as the original. I have heard nothing from Automobilia.nl when I emailed him about the problem.
In your photo the center appears "O" shaped and not "D" shaped as my originals. Is there more machining to be done?
Thanks,
Ed

It certainly is D-shaped - must be the way the photo was taken, sorry. The button part we are using are original Alfa parts as used on original GTA door buttons, thus have the flat in the bottom! The bodies came back from the chromium plater a couple of days ago and look scrumptiously lovely! I will assemble them over the next coming week or so, so all of you who have ordered them will be getting them soon, only a very few pairs left so anyone else, get in touch asap!

Max,
Whilst I am in the South France please do not forget my order. Richard has my details and tell me what I should send.

Regarding "those" buttons: does anyone know what's the diameter of the button and outside height ? (the button alone). They seem equal (diam and h). I want to check if the buttons that i've found on another car are ok.
Of course that the "D" shape is missing, but it's ok for me. Also they are bigger it seems. This is the thing I want to check.
This is the car:
Renault
And it has 4 of them !!!
