GTA / GTA Jr. Aluminum

Does anyone know if the GTA's and GTA Jr's used the same aluminum pannels from 1965 - the early 70's when the last Jr.'s were built or were casted in different types of aluminum?

The obvious ones are the rear fenders. They are different on GTA juniors and late 1600's. They have the higher cutout with more clearance. Otherwise the outer sheet metal is pretty muchidentical to my knowledge. The rear valance may have different rivet spacing but this could be just production variation. Inside, there are some more differences such as rear fire wall being more closed, 4-bolt crossmember, etc. Essentially, the inner and steel structure was updated to later spec.

I ask this because I have been offered two front fenders off a GTA Jr. I have no need for them, but it doesn't hurt to have a couple extra. I am aware that the rear arches on the GTA Jr. are a bit higher. What I am really hoping to hear is that the two front fenders are made of the same types of aluminum. I guess either way I should buy them...

Front fenders are identical - I am 99.9% sure on this, even though I can't find my GTA junior parts book right now. The material is identical on GTA and GTA junior, peraluman 25, which is high strength and thin and hard to work outside of a press. All the replica panels I have seen are much thicker than the original ones.

I wouldn't think the grade of aluminum would be critical, but its thinkness. Check the new fenders against the existing ones with a micrometer.
