Is that recently lightened or from the GTA (Trans Am) race era. I have something similar. I will get out and pic and post.

I don't know the story of this flywheel.

Very nice. Thats an interesting cut, usually it's squared out. I'll try and get a picture of one of my GTA ones I got. How much does yours weigh?

I would think the one with curved cutouts would have fewer stress risers (corners) than the squared-off cutouts? I'm no engineer though.

Andrew et al, look carefuly and you will see that there is indeed a radius at the base of the abuttments. If its important to any one I can measure that radius. If there was indeed a sharp corner stress riser, there should be concern in using such a wheel. These wheels are steel by the way. Don't try this with a cast iron wheel.
Ciao

One with the ring completely removed
I noticed that AutoComponenti ( www.autocomponenti.com) offer a steel flywheel that has the ring of material around the clutch plate completely removed. They don't mention weight but this must be safer than still having just parts of the ring left? has anyone used one like this? I presume the timing marks would need to be somewhere else like on the front pully, and of course you then also need a different pressure plate.

I scraped the images from the ebay listing for the archives after the auction has gone away.

I like the Autocomponenti solution, much neater, and probably the lightest of the lot.
I'm surprised other companies don't offer similar, it just requires a search for a suitable pressure plate from another vehicle.
