I'm still trying to work out this number business. Fusi's book (is this reliable?) says that 105.44. 1382607 should be about '73 production?? How would this fit an early '70 car? When did the pedal arrangement change?
Did early Euro models have standing or hanging pedals?
Fusi's book also starts series 105.51 at 1533988 in '70, but my car is 1531068, made in April '70 according to Elvira! What does it all mean?.....apart from bad record keeping.

Well, according to my records 1750 GT Veloce 2a serie TIPO 105.44 starts on 1970 from chassis number 1375004 and differs from the 1a serie on the following :
A/ hanging pedals B/ thinner bumpers with overriders C/ interior trim D/ rear lights.
The 1750 GT Veloce 1a serie had standing pedals.
1750 GT Veloce iniezione America TIPO 105.51 for 1970 starts from chassis number 1530708 to 1531232 , so your GTAm is indeed a 1970 model , I know us others among us that chassis 1531230 and chassis number 1531231 are both GTAms with the later residing here in Greece.

It's certainly possible that some of the GTAms were actually uncompleted 1970 1750 cars that weren't actually assembled and turned into race cars for 2 or 3 years.

Stu,
I've heard from other sources that some of the GTAms were made from production development/ test cars. - Alfa didn't like to waste cars as they had trouble making enough production US models anyway.
Takis, where did you get your chassis number info from? I only have Fusi's book to go by and, although some folk regard it as the "Alfa Bible", many of the numbers seem way off the year. - Any comment?
