Gt Junior 2 litre and auto diff

Well,i needed a car to drive home last night so I took my 105 Gt Junior home last night.
I just bought it a few weeks ago.
Its a Step nose with a 2 litre in it.
Maybe I bought it cause it had a set of MOMO wheels on it.
Anyway,I have been fixing things on it for the past few weeks and decided to drive it home.
Not much fun in Sydney traffic.
After dinner,I took it for a long drive.
Went down Bobbin Head and down the freeway back home.Approx 30 min.
Car has long legs.
Feels like it has an extra gear.
I am thinking it has an Auto LSD diff in it.
Will put it on the hoist later and count the teeth.
The car was a joy to drive with this diff ratio.
High speed and low RPM.
Feels like it has an extra gear.
Great for cruising on the open rd.
I feel it is a bonus having this diff ratio.
Yeah,,i own many 105 cars,but this was a heap of fun.
Anyone else out there have an auto diff in their cars ?
I guess it great to rev them past 7500 RPM as most of mine do,but this car is happy as a cruiser.
Too many cars and not enough garages.
Might keep this one for a while.
After the great drive last night,it gives me more enthusiasm to play with it more.

Here are a few pictures for people who missed out on the fun today in Melbourne. Great day and perfect weather. This was the first alfa club event I have attended (no alfa on the road yet, but I am now a club member) and I was very impressed with the quality of the cars and the fact that many of the cars had scrutineering stickers on them so they were enjoyed. Sorry if some of the photos are a bit poor.

WTD: 2L motor. 105 or TS. Or even a whole car

Gday all,

I am looking for a project engine. Ideally i'd like a Twin Spark but would be happy with a 2L 105 motor too.

Does not need to be in great condition as i'll be rebuilding it myself.

If you have a donor car with a TS i'd be happy to take this off your hands too.

If anyone has any leads that'd be great.

Cheers

Ballpark cost to rebuild a LSD in Australia?

What has it cost others to rebuild their LSD rear end? I just need a ballpark figure so I can see if it is worth saving for. It will be for street use. If you have a good testimonial of getting yours done anywhere on the east coast of Australia I will be happy for you to name names too!
Most places want to see the diff first which is fair enough but I just need a guestimate.

Double Flaring Brake Pipes

My 105 GTV2000 brake pressure reducing valve had corrosion so I decided to purchase an adjustable one from Alfaholics who said that it came with new fittings that just needed new double flared ends fitted to my pipe work.

Purchased a double flaring tool and then tried 4 times to get the tool to create a proper flare. It does not seem to be working, either the tool is not good enough for these steel brake pipes or it is me??? I had done this job many years ago but that was on a trailer brake system with copper tubing. It should not be that hard, it seems to create the flare on an angle.

I was wondering if anyone who has done this job can advise me on what Double Flare tool they used that worked, so that I may try to get one here in Perth, and any other tips would be appreciated.

Super1600 I have sent you a PM on this.

Regards
Tim

Hi Folks,

I'm new here, so please forgive my post if it's in the wrong spot on the forum.

I have a question about sourcing some parts to restore my 74 Spider that lives in my garage in Brisbane.

For starters I need:
* Drivers side door mirror, round chrome
* tail light lens gaskets
* wheel hub badges
* carburettor mounting rubber

Any suggestions for best prices either on-line or local.

Thanks

So it seems I have awesome timing - about a month before I bought my 164, a mate of mine threw out some of the stuff he'd kept after slotting a 164 motor into a GTV6, and Richard at Avanti's recently cleaned out a bunch of stuff, including a couple of these. Anyone got one they don't want? Don't mind if the cat is rooted, mainly want to use it for a jig for a new setup. Brizzy would be preferrable.
