Hey, Hang up and Drive - to  The Glen, that is next September. Next year it includes a celebration of the Alfa Marque. Not to early to think about it either. I just heard from a good source that the Genora Run is getting close to being filled up. Just what we need, Terrie will be on her high horse now (;):D). Me, I'll be again taking the lazy way out in the Concours which I signed up for already but you guys who flog their cars  to within one inch of their life can select one of the other Stone Bridge events.

In any event, I'll be on the lookout for ya' comin' down Franklin in my normal location outside the Concours lot:)

Cars and Croissants 8 Nov 22nd Chatham NJ / Special treat

It’s time for more croissants before we all start on the Turkeys! We have a special treat lined up this week.

First the routine formalities:

Where: Same location
Woodland Bakery, 650 Shunpike Rd, Chatham, NJ
Please do not park in the 2 rows next to the bakery -- the middle and far rows are good!

Time: 9AM

Now the treat: A short drive to see the World’s Fastest Production Car. Okay, it’s the from the fifties but it was the official speed holder that year.

The how: We will take a short 30 min drive from the regular C&C location out to Mendham to “Toad Hall” around 10:30AM. The owner has graciously agreed to open his collection of classics for us to check out. There are quite a few interesting vehicles.

The nourishment: Once we conclude the viewing, we can all have lunch at the Black Horse Tavern. The pub manager has agreed to let us self park the cars in their parking lot behind the restaurant.

I would appreciate an *RSVP *for the visit to Toad Hall! The lunch at Black Horse is “on your own”—I will take a car count when we leave to give them a heads up.

Thanks,

*2nd Annual ARA/FA Pigeon Point Light Station Evening Mini-Tour + Dinner*

*Saturday, November 14th, 2009*

Meet in Skylonda across the street from Alice's Restaurant
(Highway 84 / 35) by no later than 4:00PM. We will
leave at 4:30PM. The group will head through some of the nice back
roads and eventually turn south onto highway one near Pescadero to
end at the Pigeon Point Light Station around 5:30PM. What is special
about the 15th of November is that the amazing Fresnel lens (yes that
is how it is spelled!) will be lit up for about an hour. There are
usually light refreshments for sale onsite. At 6:30PM, we will
leave Pigeon Point and head back to Duarte's Tavern in Pescadero for dinner.
This tour is always enjoyed as not only is it an amazing experience to see this lens lit up, it is a nice opportunity to bring the Alfa out during
the afternoon and evening.

Please RSVP as soon as possible so I know how many tables to reserve
at the restaurant.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you soon,

Your Tour Director,

Sean

*FREE Dyno Runs*
There will be free dyno runs for all _*Alfa Romeo's *_on Magnaflow's in ground Dynojet Dynamometer. No tuning will be available. If you get your car run, you will receive a horespower and torque print out. We'll have some prize for most overall horsepower and most horsepower per cc. If you would like to get on the signup list, please PM me and I will schedule you in.

*Car Show*
This is an informal car show, no judging. We just want to see your Alfa here. BB members are always posting pictures of their cars on the site and it would be nice to get a chance to see them in person. There are plenty of parking spaces on the side of the building. If you want to sell your Alfa, this might also be a good time to give it a try.

*Swap Meet*
Clean out your garage and bring it over to Magnaflow. You'll be surprised at what you find.

*Location*
Magnaflow is located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. It's in central Orange County about half way between Los Angeles and San Diego. Because of it's location we get lots of BB members from both of these areas since it's a little over an hour drive from either direction.

*Magnaflow
23201 Antonio Pkwy.

If you have any questions, please post them here or shoot me a PM.

*From the October AROSC newsletter:*

November Meeting: Saturday - 14th, 1PM

Elections, White Turkey Sale, and Tour of Dirk Stoehr’s Collection

Here Ye, Here Ye: ELECTIONS!!! As said many times before, attendance at this meeting is the surest way to avoid being nominated from the floor and elected to the Board of Directors. You do not have to be present to be elected, but if elected “you will serve”. Actually the BoD is not a bad job. You get to have dinner out with some friends once a month and you get to be the volunteer selector as opposed to being the volunteer.

NOVEMBER 14th, 1PM to 4PM – The Saturday that could change your life. (not just because of the snacks and beverages) We will have a General Meeting at Italspeed: 3101 S Main St. (the intersection of S. Main and 31st St., 90007, in downtown Los Angeles, the new home of Dirk Stoehr’s eclectic collection of Alfa Romeos and etceterini. This location is about 5 blocks east of the Harbor Fwy (I-110) between Jefferson and Adams, or about 3/4 mile south of the Santa Monica Fwy (I-10). This is one of the friendliest venues we attend. Don’t believe me, just checkout all the prior kudos on the AlfaBB. Dirk is an outstanding and generous host with an automobile and memorabilia collection as outgoing as his personality.

There is ample street parking in the area.

In addition to browsing Dirk’s collection, the other reason for attending this meeting is the Annual White Turkey sale/auction. Clean out the garage. This is an opportunity to load or unload your garage of stuff you reeeaaallly need. If Charlie Schwartz shows up to act as auctioneer, with a dash of wit and wisdom, everything will sell.

Trans-Am tribute at the Peterson November 12

The Peterson is putting on a Tribute the Trans-Am November 12. They have invited many of the drivers and cars from the era. The event features a panel that will discuss How To Cheat in the Trans-Am. If this is anything like the panel at Amelia Island it will be well worth attending. Bud Moore and others had some great tales to tell.

My Ex Horst Kwech 1966 Trans-Am Championship GTA and the Tony A2Z Porsche 911 U-2-7 tribute car will be there as well a full display of significant Over 2 Liter Trans-Am cars. Tony will be attending the event and we have him and Tom McIntyre to thank for lobbying to get our Under 2 Liters cars accepted.

Horst Kwech will be one of the drivers on the panel and we are all thrilled he has agreed to be there.
