My Maserati Biturbo updates/findings thread

I get a good share of PMs asking how my Biturbo has been.
I appreciate the questions and support fellas!
My black one has been sold, not because I didnt like it, but I got another one.
I bought a 85 a little while ago. I bought it as a runner, ran rough, it is carbed, and auto. I wish it was manual, but I will be fixing that.
It had a leaky pressure plenum gasket, off time, cracked distributor cap, messed up coil wire, multiple vac leaks.... And still ran, while running really rich!
I have since fixed those issues, it runs well.
I am working on doing a manual conversion, and have a fuel injected motor being rebuilt... .030 over, forged rods, polished crank, built head, all the fixings.
I have dual CT26 turbos from a Supra built to dual .46 trims.
I love the cars deeply, and they have their quirks, but you know what, if you are inclined and motivated, and ever wanted to own one of these, DO IT! They are becoming rarer, and more abused.... I love mine, and wouldnt take anything for it.
These cars are not an addiction, they are a disease. And a good one to have lol.

Ferrari collection on the move

Hi Abb's in US

You often complain about classic cars going from US back to us in Europe. It seems a big Deutch Ferrari collection is rumoured sold from Holland to a wealthy collector in the States. I can't confirm but the story is quite interesting. It concerns the very well known Ferrari collector/importer/racedriver Kroymans who went bankruptcy earlier this year. His collection seems to be very interesting though some people apparently question the GTO's engine match.

The price? some rumours say 16 million € - not much for 20 - 25 classic Ferraris or is it?

Can any of you give more details to this exiting but very sad story. Here is a list made by M Sheehan picked from Ferrarichat with some of the cars - all Ferrari's.

The collection might not have been sold yet because it according to Dutch laws should go on a normal auction because of the bankruptcy.

Lars

Extremely rare, one of around 4 cars to exist (some say 6), 1950 (year of manufacture is approximate as well), Siata Daina Trasformabile (convertible). Car is a BARN FIND. All original except for missing front bumper, one of the side portholes and I believe real lights are a later addition (Lancia parts I think). The original ones are supposed to be 2 small round on each side. Don't know if upholstery is original but it WAS RED originally. Car was metallic green with red interior originally. All ther rest is original. ORIGINAL Fiat based Siata 1400 engine w/ double Webers. Front and back of the car is made of Aluminum. GREAT candidate for (and it needs) total restoration. It has some rust (look at pictures of floor). Yes, this car was on Alfa BB before and I bought it with intent of restoring it. I'm finish another Siata and do not wish to get into another resto after all. I won clear (California) title and car is in Culver City, California. Car is also listed on Ebay as of today. ID # is SL0172 and car has 40.000 Kilometers. I am entertaining offers at this point. Please send them as private messages through BB. Thanks.

FIAT 125 road and race car

I building a FIAT 125 road and race car to enter some endurance races here in Portugal.

The goal is to have fun rather than taking 1st place so the construction is going to rely more in realiability and interior civilization rather than full blooded race car.

Image: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll197/jpvale/Fiat%20125/DSCF0908.jpg

I started to strip the interior of the car and it's going to a shop to build it's roll cage that will keep the 4 passangers seats intact.

Image: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll197/jpvale/Fiat%20125/DSCF0928.jpg

At this point I'm thinking in suspension and engine.

Enginewise the veredict is still out wether I'll rebuild the 1.6 original engine with some performance parts or will opt for the bigger 1.8 or 2 liter engine.

Suspensionwise the plot is more or less stablished:

At the front I'll keep the original geometry with a set of coil over shocks.

At the rear I'm thinking in replacing the leaf springs with 2 standard links and fitting coil springs and fit a Watt's link to keep everything in place.

I need to know what FIAT has homolgated for the 125 rally car so I would like to know if anybody has the FIAT 125 homolgation papers so I can take a look.

I would buy them here but I prefer to wait because I need the cash to start building the car.

Thanks for any help!
