engine program

For those that are interested in computer aided engine testing I just got hold of a program call Dynomation 5
Dynomation™ Main Page
It allows a lot of work to be done prior to making or buying parts. If your interested in working with me to see what can be done to the 2.0L engine (mine is an 81 Spider) I'm all for a group collaboration and I'll post the results.

Cheers - Cris

Jim K's book has detailed lift/duration curves for the more common cams. How much detail is your program looking for?

His book is also a good source for port size data.

I have an inexpensive program that runs with less input. Unfortunately, the output, while interesting, wasn't very useful. Had to model the Alfa ports as Ford "low performance ports" because the program didn't have an input for Alfa's poor port-to-valve angle.

Thanks Mike,
The program I'm using is quite good, but only as good as the information I give it. I'll look for Jim's book on Amazon and buy it, thanks.
As far as the cam info, I need the opening and closing events along with total lift. The problem I've had so far is the way different companies measure their cams vs. the way I need for the program.
Any one can down load the manual and look at what is available, if any one desires to see what a specific cam, header, or intake can do for them, just tell me the specs and I can run it for you and post the results.

If any one has dyno'd their engine and can tell me what specifically they have, I can enter it in the program and see how accurate or close it is to verified data as well.

Thanks - Cris

Hi Cris

How well does this software work? I was looking at it online then did a search and found your post here. Did the alfa motor come in the program or do you have to "build it" from scratch ?
