TS head parts

I bought a 75 Head from New Zealand a few years ago, and finally got around to opening the box.

Imgaine the disappointment when I saw a very stripped head...

So, and suggestsons on where to get:

Valves
Springs
spring retainers
retainer cups
shims
buckets
cams

and since I'm already there- guides and stem seals.

The engine will eventually go into a GTV, using fuel injection... But building the head is first priority.

Are any of the parts compatable with the earlier head? And for valves and valve seats- what about bigger, performance, items?

Eric

bump. Come on- someone's got to have a source, or at least know if any parts from the Nord engine are the same (like the buckets, I hear).

I would expect (didn't want to say assume) that someone on the other side of the pond like EB Spares or Highwood Alfa would know. You could try sending an email to Kevin or Chris.

TwinSpark pieces

E. B. Spares has become the default supplier for more common pieces particular to 75 TwinSpark motor conversions. Most have dealt with them because of their past experience and good supply of required parts. Certainly, other British suppliers could get those parts too. Having said that, I had to source cyl. head retaining studs and more obscure parts from OK Parts in Germany or AFRA in Italy. New original studs were considerably cheaper than custom ARP pieces even with shipping costs. Certainly you should read in detail the list of interchangeable engine parts and supply list on Jim Steck's web site. I have heard Jon Norman at Alfa Parts keeps a few pieces because so many people on the west coast have done the swap. Now, if I could just find a machinist worth his Kool Tool to do the machine work .

Here's what I know (different = not the same at the Nord head, same = same as Nord head):

Valves - different (stem dia & size, I purchased from EB Spares)
Springs - same (dia the same, length the same, tension probably the same, I used some race springs from Jon Norman)
Spring retainers - probably different (WAG, I don't remember)
retainer cups - probably the same (WAG, I don't remember)
shims - different (different stem dia)
buckets - same (I replace some of mine so I'm sure of this)
cams - very different (thrust surface in center of shaft rather than chain end)
guides - different (stem dia again)
stems seals - different (stem dia again)

I hope this helps some.

Thanks Bruce, that helps a ton.

GTV- just shot a note off to Kevin, I'll probably hear from him in a short while. I know he has cams- but they are very expensive for some reason. Like US$500 for a pair.

C&B cams are expensive that's for sure. However, if you want some stock cams, try contacting Gabriele David (Alfa1750 on eBay) in Italy. His phone is +39 953 242 637 or you can email him at alfaromeo1750@libero.it. BTW, he speaks English quite well.
