Then you'll have a fully programmable, high energy, ultra reliable ignition system.

Have a look at my webpage for a completed setup.
Thanks for the info bcal. I'm afraid my lack of knowledge about distributors makes it hard for me to appreciate what is no doubt a very nice option (your system). I don't know the advantages of having a "fully programmable system". My car will always be just a street machine and I'd like to keep it as close to stock as possible (no dash-mounted gauges...). That is what attracts me to the centerline system. When I get rich enough for a couple more cars, that might be the time to convert one into a non-stock monster.

The advantage is that you can set your advance curve any way you want using a computer. You can set it like the stock mechanical distributor or you can alter it and add a little vac advance for better fuel economy.

The other benefit is that once set you never need to touch it.

But like all good things it comes at a price and I'm afraid that is the time and effort to understand how it works and how to put it all together and make it work.

So it's not really a bolt on and go option.

Thanks again. Sorry but one last question? If I put together everything you just described as being good/better about a programmable system, I come away thinking that a non-programmable one is set to a "best compromise" curve. Is this accurate?

Not sure I follow the last part. I actually have a 75-76 2L engine with 1750 cams and distributor. Does that make a difference?
