"pressure transducer spark plugs"
Do you know where to get some and how much?

I have not been able to find a small pressure transducer my self to make my own.
I thought I might be able to use a watch crystal but it seems to not notice pressure but did show shock.
I was thought it might work and is the right size to fit in to a spark plug.
in the lab busting in 135PSI into the can did not show anything but tapping on the can did.
might still be fun to try one. I bet it would pick up det real well.

We use products from Kistler. And you need pressures up to about 5000 psi, so that you know the probes wont break.

Sorry- they don't do spark plugs- they do the high speed pressure transducers. I'm not sure who fabricates the plugs- but we just put a small metal hose from the transducer to the metal part of the plug that, deep enough to get in cylinder pressures.

Not all that durable- I think we keep the milage to under 100 for a car, or the dyno isn't an issue- easy to replace.

The far better option is to install the transducers in the head. Expensive, and again, not all that durable.

hmm I guess the tube is so small it does not change anything. like a pin hole in size I guess.
google showed a few
PSIplug & CALplug
PIEZOCRYST: Advanced Sensorics GmbH - Pressure Sensors

The last time I searched I could not find anything other then a pic of one. now there seems to be a few making them. but I have not got any pices yet. I saw a post on a other forum that said over $1000
I hope to find just the transducer plug for a lot less than that. but if not I might try the small hose trick.
I think no mater what it will not last long so somthing cheap(r) would be best.
