BMW and ALFA ECU

I was looking on line to see if I could find an equivilent ECU (0261200663) for the 164 and came up with a BMW M17 (M1.7) What BMW is this?
Anyone tell me the difference between these two?

I don't know about the part number. But I believe the M17 was a 2.0 4 cylinder.

Was the car a US import? I am wondering if the ECU can be found on a "hotline" if I went in and asked for a BMW ECU?
