they clame the VAG COPS are fixed there was one version that was failing all the time but I think the rest are OK (I hope)
I have removed the dizzy so the option is out.
I am going to skip cam sync for now and run wasted. but I plan on adding a tooth to the cam pully and using a gear hall to pick up that tooth.
I think I have the intake almost done. just need to clean up the inside. what a pain.

After seeing all those wires I think it would be nice to have a connector(s) between the engine harness and car to facilitate engine removal. Also allow wiring engine up while on a stand.

I thought of that.. but I do not plan on taking it out that often..
that is just the stock wires they will get bundled to gether like they were before I just had to strip up that far to get past all the cracked outer shell. then I put the braded stuff over the wires then some heatshrink then a new boot and seals then new Jr. power timmer pins and new Jr. timmer plugs it should look good when I put everything back

the only parts that I think might not look as good as I would like will be the wires going to the COPS and the Throttle Cable.

The plugs that are use the most in cars. like the 2 pin version that plugs on the injector
or the 3pin version that goes to the TPS switch

This is a great project. Im very curious about the autotune vems feature. Do you know if the laptop tuning software megatune works under linux?

megatune is windows (might work with wine?)
there is megatunix that is unix but I have not followed it for a while. it seemed megatunix would be the way to go. I even got the windows port started for it. So now megatunix will run unix and windows. but it seems most everyone runs megatune/windows.

I will be playing with the autotune. it seems more then one way to use it.
and I hear different things depending to who I talk to.
so I just need to see for myself when I get it together. I am still fighting with the intake. I was going to bolt it from the inside for the front. But I now think that might not be wise. if the bolt come lose it will get sucked down and blow the motor. So I cut part of it open again and redoing that part. also trying to get it nice and smooth inside.

also I have been working on the wiring plan here

After cooking in the heat working on the wires I noticed the whole harness will come out easy. much better way to work on it in the shade..

It RUNS!!!

I drove it around, a lot of low revs seting the rings.
The cams seem to knock a bit I need to recheck the gap. Now it has been heated I guess I should redo the head bolts too.
It runs better then I would have thought with out any tuning.
