16 Valve head?
With all this talk about the 8 valve twin spark engine, I was wondering if anybody knew if the 16 valve twin spark head would fit on the 8v engine? I have been thinking about the TS setup and using MegaSquirt to control the igniton and fuel injection. So has anybody used MegaSquirt with this setup?

No the 16v head wount fit, the 8v is a alfa "north" engine and the 16v is basicly a Fiat engine.

Correct, no way this wil work.
However, there is at least one car I know which has the complete 16 valve engine installed.
....and the owner will never try another..... that much work! Also , of course, it is anathema to put a cast iron engine in an Alfa!!!!!

Actually it does fit
Some time ago there was a guy on gtv6.org who posted about having fitted the head to a nord block. It does fit but the cylinder spacing isn't quite right (but doesn't interfere with valves. But that is just the start... oil and water passages, belt vs chain...

Yeah, and you can probably fit a head from a chevy smallblock if you REALLY want to...

C'mon Mats, you're just pissed off 'cause you can't make 300 atmo hp out of the TS 8v engine and you can't afford the 10000GBP for the 155 BTCC engine for 298hp, heheh!! http://racecarsdirect.com/cars/detai...id=14042&cat=0

I don't know Nicke, the only way to find out I guess, is to contact the seller.
Since last night, I've found a whole lot of Alfa race stuff (cars too) in that site...reminds me how damn poor I am-sob!

**** you Jim...
Ever noted how the BTCC engines are shifted in flow direction? can be a little bit difficult to find replacement parts...
Good thing to have the hot side on the right hand side though.
Hmm, Laptop included. Thats a bargain...

I got one word for you: Olivetti....
Anyway, a friend of mine had an ex. BTCC car a while back with a similar engine, it was more sensitive then a Windows milennium installation, the friggin' thing almost never worked 100%.
That price is WAY high btw, you can buy a complete car (ex. works) for that price. You would always be looking for parts too, a 150hp/liter engine needs attention like nothing else. You wouldn't believe how much stuff they change between qualifying and the race heats. It's too crazy.
F**k, I should maybe stick to turbo engines. :/
