Just piddling around to give myself an idea of what the tailpipe(s) might look like besides a red outline.

my understanding was the tip wasnt going to be visable and the "red outline" was to be a black mesh with a hiding tip...imo it needs to be visable to break things up

just make an aluminum tip that matches the body lines out of 1/4 inch aluminum

No, Yeah, No, I mean, I thought it was going to be one of those fancy large non-circular tips like the new Lambos. But, ?

Yeah. I'll be cutting out the spare well and rerouting the exhaust after the muffler. Overall, the exhaust port will break up the rear.

Hey Tifosi! Thanks for your versions. I'll probably just dial in the red outline shape as the final look. I'm going to try and have only one shape showing out the back, which is just the outer shape of the tip. So I'll probably have to flare the pipe before the tip and blend it. However, I do have another idea for connecting the exhaust to the tip if I have the room. But that remains to be seen until that stage.

In other news, I finally got the Ferrari smogged - now she wears Cal plates. Did the work myself, ahem. That car is the easiest to work on vehicle I have ever touched. What a trip! Still have a list, but it is getting shorter...

Found a great source for the high-end Magnaflow cats. These are the metal substrate ones that flow way better than the regular ceramics. Same freekin' price at this place - go figure! HottExhaust.com - Online Store Search Results

I am going to get a pair and have them welded to the stock cat fittings. I bet the whole project costs me less than $500. The plug and play ones they sell at the Ferrari parts place are $800 each!! Hope the Demon is going to be "breathing metal".
Thanks for the heads up, Bro! I'm running Vibrant cats at the moment. Not sure of the flow rate though. But I did come across this shot of a 300 cell, Metallic Substrate, 2.25" version vs a regular ceramic cat. Probably something I should swap in.

Update.

On my rounds today, I stopped by a Merc dealer and took a couple shots of a lower bumper panel that caught my eye.

This is basically a clearer representation of how simple I'm going to keep the DEMON'S exhaust port panel. Only difference will be the center port.

The new panel will not be blended. Instead, it'll be it's own piece separate piece. In the end, it'll elongate and update the rear.

Still some fine tuning left to do (draft wise) on the hood, as the jury is still out on the vents. At any rate, work will resume next week.

Hmmmm..... I'm still grasping at concepts and ideas

Have you seen the tips used on the 2009 Acura TL?

Put one downside up and it sorta matches the shape you're after. Size is about right too. (personally I dig the siamesed look much more than just one big open hole, and this really caught my eye)

A bit of conceptualization with size on the spider bit as it's difficult to get the exact proportion of the thing so I got as close as I could using the licence plate as a scale reference.

i have to agree a single "sometimes" looks silly..but the spider doesnt have a huge arse on it....so theres no duals that will look right without looking oversized and ricey

very cool looking tip tho!

Mock Exhaust Panel

Thanks for the idea on the tip Tifosi and I believe Short made a valid comment as well. However, I think there might be away of combining what you've both said.

Tifosi - When you have some time, could you shop the last idea, but with an opening like my attached shape around the tip? I think that with an opening, I won't have to make the tip as large and the opening will add to the overall size to help break the panel.

What do you think guys? Randy, put down you're Modial and chime in?

I liked the idea of the trapezoid single exhaust exiting the center. You could even do a little play on the Alfa triangle/heart shape though a bit elongated laterally.
