I am toying wit putting a 2.5 v6 in my 74 GTV. I am keen to hear about your experience and some pictures of the build process would be fantastic.
Already i am learning, the bellhosung was the first question I had.
- How about space in the engine bay, what radiator did you use
- What sump did you use
- EMS ? my plan is to use a megasquirt ( but waiting to see what happens wit the ultrasquirt)
- Any issue with the strenght of the diff ( I suspect not as it is basically the same unit used on the Montreal V8, I think)
- Drive shaft any probelms - was any shortening required or could the position of the engine accomodate the standard drive shafts
- Any modification to the fire wall required or the transmission tunnel ?
- Did you upgrade the brakes ?
- Did you keep the standad fuel tank and adapt high pressure fule lines and pumb in return fuel lines?
Hope you dont mind all the questions but it certainly will help me with the conversion
Not for anything "reasonable" in price. I've looked at my own 164S -> Milano transplant (incl. the switch to Motronic) conversion and given the amount of time and R&D it took me, it would be well into the 5-digit range in US dollars.1750GT said:So.....are there any enterprising mecahnics out there who could put together a conversion package such as this?
