It's the coolest conversion I ever saw! Very clean and professional, but at this point everybody who saw the pictures wants to know more about this car.

I'd like to know how you mounted it. 90 gearbox? How much structural change did you need to make? Is it "driveable" as in - much understeer? What modifications to suspension and brakes?

Very nice job. It really looke well sorted.

Steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car. Otherwise, looks awesome!

WHEYHEYHEY!
Very impressive Ken!!! Great Job.... looks like it belongs there which is hard to achieve.

Some more details would really be great i.e. suspension mods, gearbox, diff and definitely would like to hear what's slowing that beast down.

Must be fun to drive.... look forward to hearing more :D

I am toying wit putting a 2.5 v6 in my 74 GTV. I am keen to hear about your experience and some pictures of the build process would be fantastic.
Already i am learning, the bellhosung was the first question I had.

- How about space in the engine bay, what radiator did you use
- What sump did you use
- EMS ? my plan is to use a megasquirt ( but waiting to see what happens wit the ultrasquirt)
- Any issue with the strenght of the diff ( I suspect not as it is basically the same unit used on the Montreal V8, I think)
- Drive shaft any probelms - was any shortening required or could the position of the engine accomodate the standard drive shafts
- Any modification to the fire wall required or the transmission tunnel ?
- Did you upgrade the brakes ?
- Did you keep the standad fuel tank and adapt high pressure fule lines and pumb in return fuel lines?

Hope you dont mind all the questions but it certainly will help me with the conversion

For anyone who is thinking of doing this conversion,, It took me nearly two years and it is not cheap , for example $3000 for a custom stainless steel
exhaust system!!! Total eng rebuild ..New Crank...pistons..liners ..>>
Conversion to power steering..etc...etc .Was it worth it ?? Im off to the racetrack next week .......... 200bhp.. 950kgs... and its all ALFA ROMEO
what do you think???? More later...Ciao for now Ken

So.....are there any enterprising mecahnics out there who could put together a conversion package such as this?
Not for anything "reasonable" in price. I've looked at my own 164S -> Milano transplant (incl. the switch to Motronic) conversion and given the amount of time and R&D it took me, it would be well into the 5-digit range in US dollars.

That doesn't include the time it would take to document the procedure, and then the amount of time I'd have to spend on the phone talking to a customer (or his/her mechanic) as a tech support guy post-sales or if anything didn't fit or broke or whatever.

For one-off conversions such as mine, or like V6 GTJ's, it's a labor of love best attempted yourself :) (burn all receipts!!!)

Hi smestas , Have to dig some pics out and have them scanned .....
only gone digital recently !! In return...some Squadra GTV decals would look good on my GTV :).....Very busy at moment, Rebuilding a 1972 1750 GTV , Twin Spark on 40>Webers , Air Con , P.A.S. from an AR Spider, Very time consuming  + Prepping V6 for Track :D And i must say how much i enjoy this mingling of Alfisti minds , For all you guys who want to know all the Tech Specs on my V6... Watch this space,!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the Best Ken..........

Set up look really nice. Interesting location for the dist, off the oil pump drive. That little torque link off the side of the engine looks like a fatigue machine though.

"Interesting location for the dist, off the oil pump drive" that is where it was in the RWD cars like mine. I think only the FWD cars moved it to the cam.
But I removed mine and went with a coil per cyl on my new setup.
