Alfetta GT engine conversions

What typers of engines have been converted in the Alfetta GT chassis? I assume the 2.5ltr GTV6 motor can be made to fit as well as a 3.0ltr 164 motor with some mods.

Jim,
If you check the results of the track event at the national convention in Seattle, 2005, I think you will find an Alfetta with 24 valve V6 engine. Yes, found it online - check out: http://potlatch.nwalfaclub.com/timetrials.html
There is a 1975 Alfetta GT 3.0 24v V6.

in australia i know there are 2 holden 308 v8's [one was being used in targa tasmania 2yrs ago. still might be used but i didnt see the last targa so cant say so] the other was a race car but i cant remember where.

i have photos of a supra twin turbo gtv with the transaxle which was a buisness mans project [fun day race car at Winton]. he said he cant use 2nd unless its just for a skid so he takes off in 3rd. he put 164 vented front brakes and gtv6 calipers in and their not big enough and has to brake really early.

i have seen a 13b turbo gtv in the melbourne trading post for sale for $6k engieneered roadworthyed and rego'd.

and i have seen a EJ20 non turbo [they have off the shelf turbo kits for them easy] gtv on the net somewhere.

are you thinking of a conversion or just curious

I've actually got an Alfetta ITB track car from the late 80's that's waiting for a engine conversion now. I'm trying to decide if I want to do a 2.5 ltr, 3.0 ltr, or something else.

I'm intrigued by using a 164 3.0 motor or 24v motor or maybe a supercharged 2.5 ltr.
