Holy smokes! I didn't even know about this project.

I would love to hear this engine someday.

All I can say is WOW.

Guys/Gals

Sorry but no updates. Been busy traveling for work, and now I am off to
Peru to do some trekking. I did manage to get my rims powder coated.
I was intitially excited that they were 15", but then Max burst my bubble
with the news that their width is only 4.5", so no real tire choices. So
I may try and sell them on the BB, they would look great on a duetto
for that "stock" look. Here's a pic of the rims, the powder coating came
out sweat!!

Here's a pic of the problem with these rims. Side by side with
the spare I have which is the stock 14x5.5, You can really see
the difference in widths.

I looked into getting a hold of a set of Pirelli Centauro's, but the
reproductions cost $300 each !! Much better to buy Max's
15" GTA rims, and get some modern rubber.

I'd go with the Alfaholics wheel for sure. Lots of advantages.

You might want to contact BBer "002" who is organizing a group buy of these wheels from Max Banks from what I hear.

Keven,

What did you used for undercoating, and how did you preprare the underside of the car before applying the undercoating?

If those 15 inch wheels are in reasonable condition, you could have the centres cut out and welded to some 7 (or 8) inch rims. This looks fab when using the hubcab - a real hot rod look, which is kind of appropriate!

Well, back from my adventure in Peru!! Beautifull country with really
great people! Highly recommended.

Ok, some answers: I had the car dipped, then etch primed before
applying the undercoationg. The data sheet on the undercoating
shows it to be a very good corrosion resistant barrier.

I also looked into having wider centers put into the wheels, but the
cost is just to high. It would be almost equivelant to buying new
wheels from Max.

A little more progress....

Pulled out my rebuilt suspension from my shed, and
found a rusty mess So took it all apart, and had
it sand blasted and powder coated.
Is there anything better than powder coating ?
Spent the weekend putting it all together.

Check out the motor mount arms, and bases, they came
out really nice.

Also I decided to have the 15" rims widened to 6",
not the optimal option, as I would prefer to buy some
of the Alfaholic GTA 15" rims, but funds are running low!
Down the line I will buy them, for now I really need to
get this thing together and running to prove that it
will work!

Here's some shots of my latest work.

Glad to see your excellent progress. Can you tell us who is widening the wheels and what the cost is?
