Thanks guys. I still do not have the exhaust set up, so
kinda sounds like a race car. Also I have one issue to
iron out, and that is a fair amount of brake screech. I
am using Wilwood performance street pads, so not sure
if these need to seat? Since I am not running a brake
sevo/booster, it seems to need about 10 time the pedal
pressure to stop. Gonna have o get used to that.

The other issue is that now that I have a taste, how
do I avoid clandestine daily runs around my neighborhood?
BTW the incredible amount of torque and power is truly intoxicating!

I did pop open a bottle of Guinness

Unhappy Screetching Brakes

Been there.

I set up my Turbo Wagon with some track time in mind and installed AP Racing brakes in the front.

This included Forodo DS 2500 pads front and rear, which are good for the track, and usable on the street.

As things turned out I've never got to the track and the brakes have been oustanding coming down the passes with a full load of camping and white-water paddling gear--including two canoes on the roof.

Initially--like for the first 8 months or so-- they would squeel something awful at the final slow stages of easy braking--like in traffic. Then as the depth of the pad lessened the shrill eventually went away.

There is about 20% left and I will replace them with something less aggressive.

Been a while since I have worked on the Tomato, but welded up
a steel steering linkage arm. The aluminum ones I bent with a
torch had stress cracks that did not inspire confidence
The steering feels nice and tight, and no interference.

I also finally finished the header, my welds still look like crap, so
lots of grinding... I going to bead blast the headers and paint with
high temp paint. Eventually I will be sending them out to Swain
for ceramic coating, when funds become available

Also am getting some exhaust tubing bent, and will be completing
installing the rest of the exhaust.
