Jungle,
Ahhh, now I'm confused That Spider rocks!!
Three Alfa's sorry, didn't mean to blow you off, but I have
been too excited about getting this thing together to actually
measure the Alfa motor stand, but will do it tomorrow and
post it on the stand thread. Hang in there. I would recommend
using the stock Alfa transmission hangar to hold the tranny in place.
Here's a couple of pics of the engine with the oil pan off, as I needed
to re-seal it because I had taken it off to consider a dry sump system
to avoid cutting the crossmember, no dice.
But the pan is really clean, leading me to believe that the motor is
essentially new. As advertised by the seller

Forgot to ask if anyone in the LA area would like my car stand.
While it is not perfect ( I would do some major improvements),
it is nice to use to work on your shell.
PM me if anyone is interested. Free, of course (pay it forward,
good Karma and all that).

FYI: Your handbrake brackets are upside down (on the rear axle) BTW ... will still work but not as designed .
Looking good.

Pete, Thanks! I thought that it looked off. Will correct that.
Could you post a pic of the correct set up?
Engine is in!! Went in pretty smooth, just a tad of persuasion,
but it all looks pretty solid. Now onto the headers, drive shaft,
brakes, steering, gas tank, and wiring
My goal is to start her before the end of summer.

Here's a shot with of the ride height with the motor in.
I'm feeling a little better about it, as I still need to add
quite a bit more weight in parts such as the hood, brakes,
and headers.

Bravo Keven!
Although i hate such extreme conversions to the historic Alfa cars, i have to say that this Honda engine is something like a physical development of the old and legendary bialbero engine.
Last but not least, i prefer your Alfa with this engine from an Alfa Romeo Brera with a GM/Holden lump....
I feel that you will have a rather difficult time trying to master this engine with the rear live axle...

I've never been a fan of "cross-breeding" cars with motors from other manufacturers, but I'm really enthusiastic about this project.
The typical guy that wants to drop a Ford V8 into an old Jag (ignoring the current Ford-Jag relationship) or the SBC that Chevy people want to install in everything just rubs me wrong. It seems like its usually done because someone doesnt want to learn about an exotic or non-US company, or just wants a cheapo way to drive something different.
This project however is different to me because the S2000 motor seems so much a spiritual successor to the old Alfa twin-cam. This swap has technical merit, aparent craftmanship, and is aesthically pleasing as well.
Thanks for showing how good an idea like this can be, I'm having lots of fun watching the show!

well, back from a relaxing week in Puerto Rico. Great place, and people!!
Snorkeling off the islands near Fajardo was a blast!!
Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. I am going to start
diving into getiing the brakes sorted out, and pedals mounted, as well
as the steering and drive shaft issues. Stay tuned...

Been making a header from two S2000 headers.
Here's a few pics of it coming together, as well
as the header graveyard

Got the headers in, now I need to take them down to be TIG'ed
I managed to only have to alter the two center pipes of the stock
S2000 header. I then chopped up another S2000 header and
pieced it together (easier said than done!).
I am now working on the pedals, which are also from an S2000.
Lot's of cutting, and I think that I will have to make a pivot to
remotely locate the S2000 brake booster (which I got on E-bay
for only $50 with the master cylinder in great condition). The
clutch master cylinder is also S2000, and got for only $30 on
E-bay. The clutch master will stick slightly into the fender, so
I will have to fab up a pocket for it. Here's a few pics of the
pedals clamped in place. Is the spacing ok? Anyone have a
pic of them in an S2000?

Keven,
This is the pedal setup in an '02 S2000. Plenty of room with any kind of shoes. Yours looks a bit tight.
