Bosch 2.0 crank-pulley on older 2.0 motor?

I'm not sure if this question is best asked in this forum or in the engine-management forum - but I'll try here first anyway.

I want to add EDIS ignition, probably programmed from a Megajolt ignition ECU, to my 1974-ish 2000 engine. The engine is out of the car and I'm working through the usual pair of problems with doing this - how to mount the 36-1 trigger wheel to the crank pulley - and how to mount the sensor.

Concentrating on the pulley for now, I came across this pulley from Centerline.
Centerline Products: CP607 Crankshaft Pulley - 2000 Engine (Bosch Injected)
very nice looking piece AND with 4 threaded holes for the mounting of 'something' to the front of it. I've never had a Bosch injected car so am not sure what is usually bolted there...but I want to bolt a trigger wheel there.

Therefore the question is - would this pulley line up with my alternator/water pump? and would it seal in my timing cover? Or did they change things in '82 such that this pulley is useless?

Thanks,

-Richard

Yes, it will fit. The four bolt holes allow you to bolt on the flange that makes the other 1/2 of the A.C. belt slot.

Caution! Shameless commercial plug ahead: I also have have L-Jet Spider pulleys. I have both used, but good stock units and, what I believe is the highest quality aftermarket pulley you can buy. Mine is made from the highest quality steel. It's 1/2 pound lighter than the stock unit and far stronger. It also has timing marks out to 40 degrees for easy performance tuning, and it's nickel plated for a long lasting nice finish. Of course it's also the most expensive.

Oh, and one more thing. I am 100% sure it will fit the older 2.0. My dad's supercharged 2.0 runs an older Alfetta block with our upgraded pulley, so I am not just guessing here.

Ah, but it'll retain an insanly high re-sale value for many years to come particularly as the source for originals dries up and yours are still looking like NIB.

If you have access to a lathe you can mount the ford trigger wheel to the old alfa pulley easy enough.
You machine up a carrier with clamping plate and you press and pin the carrier to the inside of your existing pulley.
That way the sensor can be fixed and you rotate the wheel for your final adjustment.
Look at the pics on my webpage.

EFI Pully

When I rebuilt the engine in my 74 GTV I put a set of 45mm Webers on. I new I would eventually instally some sort of EFI system so I wanted to set things up for the future. I got a engine cover from a Motronic Spider. This eliminated all of the Spica stuff and provided a bracket for the crank sensor. I also got a Motronic pully which has I believe the 36-1 pattern. The pully had an extra belt grove which I removed on a lathe. The whole system is very clean and looks OEM. I don't have any picture but live in Saratoga if you would like to see it.
