GTAm replica in Spain - Cams for a 75 head.

Hi!

A guy near here has built a GTAm replica. The car uses the original 2litre engine. Now he has just purchased a 75 2 litre head and wants to fit it wit some decent cams for fast road/rally use.

- The 75 head fits directly to this type of block or is needed any modification?
- What cams do you recomend for that use?

You can check the rebuilding of the car here:
Mangallo.org • Ver Tema - comienza la era GTAM

An some pics in the last Ourense Rally.
Mangallo.org • Ver Tema - Ourense Velocidad 2008- CR

Best regards, Alvaro

Hi Alvaro,

I think the consensus is that it's easier to fit an entire twin spark engine than modify the TS head to fit a Nord block. Other forum members will be along with more concrete details than mine but I believe one of the difficulties with the head swap is a difference in the number of oilways or waterways. The swap can be done though.

I saw the forum thread of your friend's car in the GTAm section - nice!

Brad

Hola, Álvaro

Maybe your question was not clear enough. Do you mean Javito has bought a 2-litre, carburettor 75 head, or indeed you are saying Javito has bought a 75 Twin Spark head?

Braddo, remember that some early 75s (1985>) were 2 litre and had carbs (at least in the Continent, I don't know about the UK). Twin Spark versions came a bit later (1987)

So I suppose the question still remains - does a "modern" 2.0 Nord head from a 75 fit a older, 105-series 2.0 Nord head?

Hello:
Yes, itīs a modern 2.0 Nord head from a 75 carburator fit a older block of 105-series 2.0 Nord head. Itīs possible. The fact now the engine of Javito itīs so that. Itīs a cheap way to performance because the cam of this head is higher than old 105. Also piston liners Borgo high, stronger springs Kent cams (the same as engine Pinto 2.0 Ford),etc.
Best regards
Carlos

You can actually fit a Tspark head to a older 105 block, when I was at Rossi Engineering we wrecked so many Tspark engines doing development work we ran out!
we had to revert back to the original blocks...... My engines on the front of Jim Ks earlier tuning book, that had a 105 series block.

What a star, how did you find this..

I am too wondering if a twinspark head on a 2.0 Nord will work and is it better, more semi original ??

Anyone heard of the badulzi cam cover replica ??

Thanks

Craig

No,Its only because at the time in the UK, in around 1990, we ran out of very expensive,at the time Tspark engines
I then re -engineered a Tspark head to fit the original 105 2 litre block, It worked fine as per Jim Ks first tuning book, 220bhp at 8400rpm!
At the time I was working with the Super Touring 155 Alfa Romeo factory team in Madrid, Spain.........In 1995 we won the Spanish Touring Car Championship for Alfa Romeo

IMO: No.

Do some searching on this web site and Guy Crofts (Fiat mainly) web site. you will save yourself some money and gain far more useful info.
