new 2 alfa's new 2 fourm and need help.
i just bought my first alfa romeo on the weekend, and what a blast. of all the hot rods and sport cars i have had this is one of the funnest. it is a 84 spider 2.0 but i need a little help, everything electrical in it works except for the drivers side power window. i thinks that is the motor. and the low beam head lights. when i say the low beams i mean everything that goes with them. there are no dash lights no running lights no low beams. the high beams work and i have tested all the other lights hazards, turn, back up etc. they all work.
it might help if i got the owner manual for the car but it has been lost. this means that i dont even know what is "on" for the head lights, what i mean bu this is the lever on the left of the stearing wheel behind the turn signal lever, are the light suposed to go on when the lever is up or down.
and to boot there are some disconected wire under the dash, and with out a wiring diagram i am lost trying to figure out where they go and if this is the cause of the head light issue.
any help on this matter would be great.
thanks
Quinton

Twisting the arm counterclockwise (when looking from the end) will turn on the parking lights at the first click, then the parking lights and low beam headlights at the second click.
Pulling that arm 'back' towards the wheel will flash the highbeams for as long as you hold it back, pushing it 'down' like a left turn signal will turn the high beams on.
Note that the underhood, in trunk and in glovebox lights will not function unless at least the parking lights are turned on.
Also, you're curtesy lights (if present) are a rocking lense affair that operate off a timer when the lense is centered, (they'll stay on for as long as the door is open, but will automatically shut off 10-15 seconds after the door is closed), on all the time when rocked one way, off all the time when rocked the other.

No problem, that's what we're here for.
Oh, one thing I forgot with the above items:
The reostat on the left side of the steering column 'clamshell'/column cover, behind the headlight and turn signal stalks controls the lighting on the console only.
1) blower fan switch
2) lighter trim ring
3) hazard light switch
4) climate control slider 'light hood' (if present)
5) power window switches (if present)
6) clock (if present)
All of the actual instruments are 'fixed' and not brighness controllable.
**
Before you get too far along axing questions on the board, it would be of benifit to put the year and trim level of your car in your signature block to save people having to axe, or you having to mention it every time.

Welcome to the BB.
You need to come on up to the Spider section of the forum. (more 'traffic' there).
And, you MUST post some photos of your Spider. We likes pictures!
