ALT light after high acceleration?

I noticed after enjoying the song of the GTV that the Alternator light goes on after heavy acceleration, I have no aftermarket lights on the car and all the lights were turned off. Could my alternator already be going bad? Or is my new battery already cooked?

Could be a sign of worn brushes in the alternator.
