brake lights yes, running lights no!

Hey everyone,

Just got my 76 Spider out after a long snooze and I am having a few problems. The last time I had this thing out sites like this did not exist. The brake lights on my car are working, but the running lights are not. The signals are also working and the headlights (high and low) as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Also if someone has a diagram for the fuse box on this vehicle I would sure appreciate one.

Thanks

Moose

I have a 74 spider with a similar problem. I was told the column switch needed to be replaced.

Did replacing the switch work for you?

It should I haven't replaced it yet. My mechanic rewired the switch to the highbeams.

My headlights worked but the rear tail lights did not. They rear light would come on when the brakes were used.

Since he did this as a temp fix until I get the switch replaced. I now have all lights working except for my high beams.

Gee, it would seem to me to be a large waste of time and money to go through all that just to find out that fuse #5 is dirty or blown.

If you'd like a wiring diagram for your Spider, please send me your email address in a private message.

I have seen the lights. I took Papjam's advise and cleaned the fuse terminals. None of the fuses were blown, but the number 5 was very small. I replaced it with an 8 and the lights seem to work now. I'm not sure if that is right, but I don't know which fuses should have which sizes. At least it should now pass inspection. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
