Earth Strap

I've done a rebuilf of a 2.0Lmotor to go into my 1300 Junior and the strater was only just turning over. I just put an old battery to body earth lead from the battery to the Engine and she's ticking over like new.

Where do the erath leads go from and too on this engine.

1. From the body work (lower firewall) to the gearbox (must be directly under the mounting bolt of the start motor to ensure a good earth of the starter motor.

2. The little strap across the rubber carb mounts that goes from the intake manifold to throttle body.

3. Main battery earth from the negative battery terminal to the radiator mounting bracket.

4. Engine earth - ????????? where is this supposed to go too and from?? I have a temp cablerunning direct from neagtive battery terminal to the cam cover. Is this correct and what does the earth strap look like.

If there are any other earth straps that you can think of please feel free to add here. They seem to be pesky little things.
