Duetto Generator

The generator on my Duetto is not the Bosch EG(R) 14V 25A29 that the manual specifies. I have a Bosch IJ/GEG200/12/2700 R32. Does anyone know anything about this generator? Is it an acceptable replacement?

The reason I am trying to be really certain is that I know the PO had problems with batteries dying and the car stalling after long drives. Maybe this was the problem?

Or maybe it was the fact the carbs had different size chokes in them?
