wipers/radio still on after engine shut off

Anyone know where I should start in finding out what the problem is....when I shut off the engine after a trip, the radio, which used to automatically shut off (then automatically turn itself on when engine starts up again) remains on SOMETIMES. Also, noticed on a rainy day, wipers remain on also with engine shut off(I usually shut wiper motor off first, but this time forgot and serendipidiously learned the wipers have the same defect as the radio (again, SOMETIMES)!!!!

A short? where?

Thanks.

Sounds like it might be the ignition switch itself, Joe.

the wipers, lights and almost everything else are wired to the battery but not thru the ignition switch. at least on my 74 spider. the radio could be connected to the switch or not, they were not factory standard, but installed by dealers.
