Burned out headlight sockets in a 164

I just got my first alfa, a 1991 164 L. It is a great car, but the other day the headlights quit working. On closer inspection I noticed that the headlight sockets were burned, making for a weak ground. I was just wondering if any other people have had this same problem, and what they did to fix it. Thanks for your help.

I had this happen in my Mercedes from using aftermarket higher power bulbs, the only proper repair is to replace the sockets and connectors in the sockets and repair any overheated wiring.

I am going to replace the sockets and bulbs tommorrow, as well as adding another ground just to be safe, as this is where most of the melting occurred. Thanks for your help, was hoping it was nothing major
