Alfa 164 Factory Amp

Hey everyone,

I'm installing a mp3 cd receiver in my 1991 base 164. I've got the receiver mounted and wired with a wiring harness. The problem I'm having is that I previously installed 4 ohm speakers with the factory system which runs on 1 ohm. So, the factory receiver burnt out, along with a blown fuse, and I'm assuming the factory amp burnt up as well. The new receiver works fine, but there's no sound. So, I'm assuming that the amp is fried and so the signal can't go through to the speakers. I'm thinking about bypassing the amp altogether and directly connecting the speakers to the new receiver. First though, I need to find where the factory amp is, so if anyone knows where it is on a '91 164 or has any input on what I should do, please let me know. Thanks.
