87quad, My motor been running fine. Probably a stuck brush in its holder. Do you watch Star Trek? Did you know that resistance is futile? Thats what you have, resistance. Could be bad connections to the motor or the ground. Other possibilty is that there is crap blocking the air holes to cool the motor. A hot motor takes alot more power to move than a cool one. I would check the connections/ground first. I know that there is a block with male spade connectors in back of the heater assembly. Check them out first. I have no idea how it is grounded. Maybe someone else can help.
Anyway, good luck.
Dave

Fuse Issues 86 Quad

Before you take apart or buy anything - go to RadioShack and buy a fiberglass contact cleaning pen/brush , This is much easier on the metal and cleans up the fuses and contact surfaces better than a file or sandpiper which can't get into crevices.

Use the brush to clean the fusebox terminals -and fuses which don't seem to blow as much as corrode.

NOTE ! - The bottom contact seems to get all the corrosion ( is it the positive?) Most of my problems with horns, fans -even headlights began and ended there.

As far as fuses go - try to get the copper ones, they seem to make better contact for longer than the silver metal/ zinc ones. If they are zinc then they make a honey of an anode for corrosion!

I got a schematic for my Quad out of the Mitchell's at my library's reference room. Amazingly - it does not show any A/C components !! It is easy enough to add it in as I experiment with the wiring.

Thanks for the guidance on the temp sensors - that was a big help!
