I agree with you guys. Most Alfisti are great people who help each other out and are kind to the 'newbies' and those who know little about their cars. Papajam and others really do go way out of their way to be helpful and even polite!

I just wish we didn't occasionally have a 'bad apple', as sometimes that can ruin the well-deserved reputation that most Alfisti have earned.

Cheers,

I agree too! There are some of the best alfisti in the world on the ol' BB. Thanks to all who openly share their wealth of knowledge. Remember, no one was born knowing all this stuff!

With all the praise being thrown around (which is VERY well deserved), I want to testify to what this advice was really worth in lifestyle terms.

I am able to drive my Alfa over the last weekend of the summer. My wife's Volvo is a nice car, the BMW we bought for the kids is OK too, and my '84 Jeep CJ is fun as well. But, as you all know, driving an Alfa is just a little different, you seem to be more involved in the process of locomotion (not to mention the grin).

It broke my heart to see the Alfa in the garage, unable to thrill, felled by a gremlin that I couldn't cure. The Master Alfisti (PJ & RT) pointed me in the right direction, and I am now tooling the byways of the Hamptons once again (smiling all the way). Without ALL of you on the BB, I would have ended up taking the car to the shop for diagnosis & repair (not to mention the delay and expense).

There is a great satisfaction in making something work that did not. Often, as it was in this case, the remedy is obvious to the more experienced eye. I can do the wrenching, but I often need a bit of help with the diagnostics.

Thanks again to ALL the participants of this board, and where do I send the check?

Art Graham
