Hi papajam,

I am new to the forum and to the world of Alfas, having recently purchased a 1988 Spider Graduate. I am currently gathering all possible documentation in order to begin restoring my car, and was wondering if you had the wiring diagrams for the 1988 Graduate, or if you could point me to a site that has it. My e-mail is rmatrix2812@yahoo.com. Thank you.

Regards,
Pedro

Welcome to the Board and the wonderful world of Alfa, Pedro!

Being new to both Alfa and the BB, might I suggest you look at the suppliers list thread. There are dozens of listings on where to get what for your Spider.

Diagram is on the way.

Welcome to the BB, Jackho!

The easiest way to send a PM is to click on the user name of the poster you wish to contact. A posters user name is in the upper lefthand corner of a post. After clicking the user name, a number of options will appear one of which is to send that poster a private message.

Papajam,
I am a new Alfa owner as I wanted a hobby & a older sporty car was the alternative to a Motorcycle. I purchased a 1983 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. I am experiencing electrical issues on the tail end. No rear lights at all (brake, night, etc). The rear signal lights however do work. Do you have available information or a location where I can attain electrical materials for a problem such as this? I am in the Seattle, WA area.

Welcome to the BB, robertz!

It's impossible to say what you might need without knowing exactly what is wrong. Alfas are known for poor grounds and to a lesser degree, electrical connections so this would be a good place to start. I'm assuming that all the bulbs are okay?
If you'd like a color wiring diagram for your Spider, just send me your email address in a private message and I'll get it to you.

Smile Re Wiring Diagrams

Dear Papa: I have always recalled electircal diagrams as affected by Law # 3 of the Seven Laws of Alfa Design and Construction:

3) THE LAW OF ELECTRICAL CHAOS
“All Alfa Romeo Cars shall be wired at the Factory by a cross-eyed, color-blind worker, using whatever supplies are within reach. All wires shall change color-code at least once between energy source and component. All grounds shall be partially insulated.” This tends to guarantee that the owner of such vehicles will eventually be intimately familiar with its electrical system, since he will need to trace out each wire, then rewrite his Official Schematic, which will differ from all others in at least one area.

Every Alfa Owner should be entitled to his own self made electrical diagram.

Hi Rob,
Yes, I have the diagrams for your Spider. They're scans of the originals and not in color but they will serve the purpose. Please send me your email address in a private message and I'll email it to you.
