Meeting at Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana

Last week I visited Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana, about 40 miles from New Orleans. This would be a great place to have a meeting. Here is a link to the Oak Alley Plantation. The place is simply beautiful!

What do you think??

Nice place, huh? Can you imagine living there! Line up a bunch of Alfas under those oaks on each side! Looks like a great place. Our next meeting will be in October or early November. PM me your email address and I'll put you on our mailing list, or you could join our chapter if you like.

I went back to Oak Alley again yesterday. This place is beautiful and a great place for a meeting.

I thought I had joined, but obviously I was not correct.

Maybe you joined AROC, but didn't signify that you wanted to join the Deep South Chapter. Contact Jolene Justus (AROCadm@aol.com) and she can change your chapter affiliation.

They do not allow dogs. I like to take my Dachie with me!

I guess I did not realize that they did not allow dogs there. I apologize for that. But, it is a beautiful place, I am sure that you will enjoy it even without your dog. I also have a dashound, two in fact. Both of them are black and tan. I got both of them when I was living in India. Heidi and Gretel are great dogs, but they have never, and will never get into my Alfa. After the money I spent on getting the leather seats redone in my GTV6, they simply are not worthy to sit on them, and besides, their claws would do some damage.

Gleen,
I have a 30 pound standard longhair Dachie. Not many people know that Dachies can be that large. He is 13 years old and going strong. I rarely spend a momnet with him out of my sight.
It would be a grat road trip to run my Alfa over to that plantation and spend a few nights. Louisiana is a great place with great food.

30 lbs! Darn, he is big.

I wnet through a divorce over the last year, and my dogs were great support. I have been traveling quite a bit recently, and have felt bad that they have had to stay at a kennel so much. They are good dogs.
