Door trim plastic

I found that my original door trim at top of the inner doors the hard plastic ones had a lot of scratch and the driver side had a dull spot from the PO, he must of rested his arm on the door often, it left a faded mark.

I tried everything, it just made things shinny, but the spot and scratches was still visible.

The only thing that worked was black shoe polish cream, yes shoe polish! Don't laugh at me, it worked. Applied as you would to a shoe, give it 10 minutes to dry then buff with a shoe brush and then buff with a cloth, repeat the if necessary.

Goodnight

Rich

Door Trim

Hi Rich,

Not laughing! Any problem with "black" rub off on clothes over time? Any special cleaning or prep work prior to polishing?
Thanks, Gary

Hi Gary,

No problems what so ever the shoe polish coming of. Leave it overnight and nothing will come of. I tried Armorall to see if it comes of and it didn't, so you can use Armorall as you would normally to clean the interior.
I have also done my Re-original fiber glass dash with shoe polish and worked great.

You can try it and if you don't like it, clean it of with petrol, a little bit on cloth and then wipe it of.

Rich

No prep work required, just make sure it is clean first from any Armorall by using Windex or some thing similar.

Rich,

Good tip! It worked well, better than the typical vinyl dressings. Two coats were needed to get the results your pic's indicated. Thanks again.
