Car Covers

Anyone out there who is especially satisfied with their car cover? I'm looking for a cover for my 2600 spider. The car is kept in the garage and is not driven in the rain or snow, so my primary considerations are protection from dust and from paint damage.

I hear that the flannel-lined covers protect the paint surface well, but tend to shed and leave lint on the canvas top. I've checked out some synthetic (polypropylene, I think) covers, but the inner lining seems scratchier than I would expect from something advertised as "soft". I would also like the cover to have some substance/thickness to it - for a bit of added protection.

If anyone has any suggestions, recommendations, or experiences (positve or negative) I'd be interested to hear them.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks for the ideas and links, lgbalfa and geh458. Lots of good info on the "car covers?" thread. Not sure if the cars discussed will fit a 2600 spider, but I'll check it out.
Thanks again,
Joe

I bought a cheap ($36 - "Buy it Now" price) cover on eBay for the same purpose you want one for. Works great. Light weight. Soft. No Dust. No moisture. No scratches. I'd buy a better cover if I was using one outside (wind, weather, etc.) but this one is perfect in my garage. I'd buy the same cover again.

The fit is great. Made for a GTV. Just no mirror pocket.

I sound like a salesman. Oh well, it is just a nice cheap cover that works.

I'll see if I can find a link.

No affiliation. The guy's eBay user name is "covercentral". Here's the link:

eBay Motors: Car Cover Alfa Romeo Sprint GTV 1965 66 67 68 69-1975 (item 280327299414 end time Apr-25-09 20:54:33 PDT)

Thanks, fangio8c. Do you remember what the brand was? Or the eBay vendor? And which Alfa model did you get the cover for?
Regards,
Joe

I got one for my GTV. I think he's got a lot of Alfa models. Just search his eBay "store". Again, this is just an "el cheap-o" but I like it and it works for me.
