leather conditioner?

what do you guys use?

i have been using meguiars gold class cleaner / conditioner in a spray bottle.

i think that a lotion / creme would be better then a spray bottle?

what are your thoughts?

thanks.

For my money, you can't go past Conolly Hide Food. (Its a creme). Has worked for me on leather bound Momo's, and on the leather seats in my Alfas and Fiat. Its also especially good for re-juventating old dry leather. Dave

Connolly Hide Food is called Connolly Hide Care in the States. The Feds don't like stuff called food if you can't eat it. Or maybe you can but you shouldn't. So maybe that is what the Feds are thinking, if they ever in fact think.

Saddle Soap.
Been around forever and works great. Cleans and replaces lost oils.
Saddles, boots, belts, tack, motorcycle bags, leather seats, etc.

If it's good enough for cowboys, it's good enough for me.

(you could also try Lexol for the final conditioning and preservation)

Stay away from Lexol! its a oil derivative and will slowly dissolve the leather. My saddle maker's advice: wash gently with saddle soap (lots of suds, not so much water) and rub generously with neatsfoot oil. Let it soak in and rub/polish with dry terry.

Be careful of the seat covers. Many are coated with a flexible varnish, which makes them water proof. But the saddle soap and neatsfoot can soften the varnish, making the leather tacky.

I've been using leatherique for several years. Keeps leather soft and pliable and my seats haven't melted yet.
