89 Spider Wheel Restoration

Hi -

I have an 89 Spider Veloce that has the original wheels. However, they are terribly corroded from exposure to the elements of Illinois winter roads. I would like to give the job of reviving them to my teens, but I don't know how to instruct them on the correct technique and tools/chemicals.

Can you help me?

I use a pro for wheel work, so I can't really help, but I think you may want to mention if your wheels are steel or magnesium alloy...

Enrique, didn't all 89 Veloce's come with magnesium wheels?

Would a picture help to determine the condition/materials/suggestions?

I really can't be sure they are the original wheels, but they sure look 20 years old

i also use a pro for wheel work.

cost a lot though.

i have seen people work on their wheels in the past and they came out great.

Here is a good start but I have used SEM products with good results.

It is lot's of effort but it's worth it.
