Evan,
Well, Milanos can be tought cars to detail, here are a few tricks I've learned that will help. Since everyone has a preference as to which products they like to use, I'll keep it pretty generic.
1) Wash the car, dry it, then use compressed air to blow out the water that gets trapped behind the trim strip and in the door handles and mirrors. If you don't get rid of this water, it will drip for days and can leave hard water spots on a fresh wax job.
2) I like to condition the trim with a vinyl/rubber protectant, then polish/glaze/wax. If you wax first, then treat the trim, it's a lot easier to get wax on the trim (will leave white residue) and conditioner on the wax (will leave a smear).
3) Since the Milanos have inboard rear brakes, the rear springs and shocks are readily visible, so you might want to wipe them down if possible.
4) Obviously, for products like vinyl/rubber protectants, a matte finish is better than a shiny "Pimp My Ride" look, especially on things like the dash. Go easy and wipe with a dry towel after applying for a matte look.
Hope this is a good start!
Joe
