Hesitating Dellorto DHLA 40's

I have just repacked and refitted my Dellorto's.

They idle fine, accelerate fine, but have a tendency to hesitate when giving gas.

I've been told that this could also be the ignition timing being either too retarded or too advanced.

Does anyone have any experience here.

Did you replace the accel pump diaphragms when rebuilding ?? They've a habit of stretching over time resulting in stumbling/hesitation when you floor it.

Yep - all gaskets and also the diaphragm for the accelerator pump have been changed. The carbs have been synchronized and the problem occurs mostly when flooring it at revs below 3000rpm. If I apply the accelerator gradually and then give it gas when it reaches around the 3.000 then it has no hesitation.

Each pump jet might want adjusting, try turning each nut clockwise one per carb, one turn on the little threaded rods then drive, if worse screw each one out two turns and drive. see if this helps

Do you mean the linkage that is located on the underside of the carb??
