Look on ebay for a front fuel filter assembly for a 69-74 or a 79 (?) - 81 assembly with the PRV.

What makes you think yours is bad??

My mechanic thinks it may be bad. After reinstalling the SPICA, there is not enough fuel pressure.

Check with Wes Ingram wing@nwlink.com. I'm not sure If he's back from convention yet.
Are you sure it's not the fuel pump?

I'm going to Anacortes this afternoon to pick up my V6 heads from Wes. I'll see if he has one.

Thinks it's a bad PRV? Did he try bypassing the PRV to see if that's the problem. Takes about 10 minutes to do.

Wes doesn't have any SPICA relief valves. He says they get corroded and dirty. He says most of the newer fuel pumps have a built in relief valve so the one in the SPICA pump isn't needed. Have your mechanic make it redundant. He's using the fuel pumps from Centerline that are made in Spain. He thinks they have a relief valve, but check with centerline.

Yes, there is a PRV in the L-jet supply pumps that are used as substitutes, but the trip pressure is much higher than the 17psi SPICA spec. That said, if the restrictor hole in the outlet fitting of the injection pump is correct, and the front fuel filter is not allowed to plug up (and it should never since the rear filter does all the "heavy lifting" of keeping the fuel clean), the Spica front fuel filter PRV should never need to open. Hence, I don't get too sweated up about replacing the 76-78 old-style 3-port pumps with L-jet 2 port pumps and not having a stock 17 psi PRV in the system. That said, having a stock 17psi PRV in a system with an L-jet replacement pump is a good thing from a extra-safe standpoint.

Hello

I had that problem a couple of years ago.
the spring inside the valve was broken.
I did replace it with a Bosch valve Number: 1417413000

Or just look at the list.

Greetings from Germany

Bernhard

PS: After installing the new one I did check the correct function of the PRV according to the procedure in John's
SPICA Fuel Supply Diagnostic Guide

Hello

I knew that I wrote about this before.
Here we go:

On tuesday I will also check wether my reffmeter ( ? ) is showing the correct reffs.
@ Jim
The pressure relief valve I did use is a Bosch valve ranging from 1.3 bar to 1.8 bar. I ve attached the two sheets for you. The shown and corect valve number 1417413025 is not longer produced but I did use valve number 141741300 which you can adjust by putting shims between the two srews you see in Picture 12.
