Fuel Cut-off fuel solenoid problems. Need help!

After a 10 year nap, I got my GTV running pretty well however, it seems to lack power. I think I've isolated the problem to the FCS and maybe the fuel mixture.

I adjust the mixture so that the engine is running and idling smooth, but once I attach the wire to the the FCS the car stalls. Dead. Won't start. Take the wire off and the engine runs great (just lacks power). What does this mean? Also, when adjusting the fuel mixture should the wire be attached or unattached?

Thanks,

Greg

Probably a shorted microswitch. Trace the wire back to the microswitch, then back to the feeder wire on the right side of the engine compartment. Make sure that the microswitch isn't being bypassed and hot current fed directly to the FCS.

If the system is tuned correctly, you can defer replacing the microswitch until a later time when you have the injection pump off the engine anyway.
