Fuel injection hoses

I need to swap out a couple of 8mm rubber fuel injection hoses (non-alfa, I apologize). The fit to the nylon and fuel filter end fittings is tight, so is there a preferred way to do this? Lube. heat. or? Just trying to save my knuckles. Thanks

Spray both parts with silicone.

Nah, the light didn't come on for me until the third or fourth hose connection of what is it 12 or so when you replace all of them on a Spider?

This all came about from an issue of the previous owner substituting a standard gas hose in place of a fuel injection grade hose. I'm sure there are a lot of folk out there that may be unaware of the difference, but it can prevent a costly engine fire (at best) when you use the correct hose made for the pressure. When gas comes out of a cracked hose, atomized in a fine spray (as in my case) it's a very explosive situation.

Yes, the fuel injection type hose is really thick.

When changing mine I needed to clean out the metal fuel line as well. My mind kept coming up with these elaborate schemes, so I asked on this board about it. While I was waiting for an answer the compressor in my garage came on, as did the light bulb in my head. Can anyone say duh?
