Do I need to tune carbs to go higher?

Hi,

Will appreciate any one who has experience driving their carb cars into the mountains. I live in the tropics and hope to take my spider up into the mountains - not very hight about 5-6000 ft with night temperature being not lower than maybe 15C.

as my car is tuned for sea level, any suggestions about the tunning? Will I run rich when I'm in the mountain? If I have to tune it, do I do it at the base before I go up or when I'm up? Dont want to have problem starting the car when I'm up there.

This will be the first holiday trip I'm making with my spider, and boy am i looking forward to driving up and down the mountain in an Alfa! Just the mere thought of it makes me

Thanks

fgc

I wouldn't worry at all. The Swiss alps North of Milan are twice as high as the 5-6000 ft you stated and we never adjusted the carbs just to drive there.

I agree with tubut. No need to rejet for a holiday trip. But if you were to move there, well......

Coolll ... thanks for the replies Tubut and Papajam. Its holiday time!!!

The swiss alps.... I can only imagine driving a spider there... especially the pass err cant remember the name.. the one that links to northern italy... up and down all those hair pin turns. I used to spend a fair amount of time in Swizterland when I was living in London but never had the opportunity to drive there. Next time maybe!

Its holiday time!
