Dellorto's & turbo's

Does anyone know if these (or Weber) carburettors have any problems with a blow-through turbo/supercharger setup?

they can be very trick, any carburator. All points where the carb vents to atmosphere, one must feed to boost pressure to prevent it from blowing air out of multiple places. Which will cause some jetting problems.

If you are going turbo, it would be better as a draw through carb, or better yet, with EFI.

Well after careful thought (and countless drinks) i have decided the following options:

1 - fit the original carbs into a sealed container with a flexible rubber noggin for the linkage, supercharged

2 - inject & intercooled turbo (not really a viable option - need to build engine to make this better)

3 - Mazda 13B turbo import (i know the purists will burn me at the stake for suggesting this though )

Can anyone else suggest other ways for wasting V8's?
(alright now everyone knows why i'm asking - such a good chassis - seems such a waste not to exploit it)

Hey Evilgidget:

I was asking tech support at Pierce Manifolds this very question last week. Pierce is a big supplier of Webers in the US. He said there is a special Weber designed specifically for super/turbo charging applications and that you cannot effectively do it with a normal DCOE Weber. He also pointed out that they are very pricey and that he knew very little about them. So coming from them, its possible but not with your normal off the shelf DCOE and I think he mentioned exactly what Eric said in regards to air coming out all over the place.

Best Regards,
John M
