Fuel Pump Cutoff Switch?
I am told that newer FI'd cars and racers have a rear fuel pump cutout switch that stops delivering fuel under certain circumstances. I could imagine in a wreck or in component failure (from the pump discharge to the FI pump inlet - a lot of real estate), that the rear fuel delivery pump could run and continue to feed a fire or make a nasty puddle of fuel. As exposed as the underbelly fuel pump/filter areas is to road debris including the short pump suction line), this is not so far fetched. Could some knowledgeable person(s) comment on this and lend some sage advice? Thanks, Bruce
