Corrosion on Sending Unit Bracket in Tank

I have the sending unit out and a replacement pump on it on order. There is a lot of corrosion on the bracket. It is the white stuff in the photo. I can and will remove it and would like to apply a protective coating before I reinstall.

Is there a suggested treatment for this application since it will be submerged in fuel most of the time? Will COR 15 work for this or will the fuel dissolve it after a while?
